We're here to help- from managing bills for an elderly parent to settling an estate- we've got you covered!
Hi- I'm Doug Marr. I'm a Daily Money Manager who delivers essential personal financial services to individuals such as seniors, and anyone else who needs help to “take care of their daily business.” This is my initial focus as I start in this occupation as a member of the “American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM)” since that is where my experience lies.
I also want to help others such as busy professionals and high net worth individuals who just don’t have the time to take care of their day-to-day money matters themselves. I am extremely ethical, I am a great communicator, and I genuinely care about people and accuracy in my services. I am happy to build teams of supporting professionals as needed.

I have many other options of services that I can offer- just tell me what you need.
I am a retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel (24 yrs.) with a master's degree in Operations Research. I have also been a Team Leader of many units within Homeland Security for 12 years.
I am a master of spreadsheets and I pay meticulous attention to detail. Budgeting, finances, analyzing a budget and relationships with people are my expertise.
I see the need to help our elderly with the daily finances, insurance issues, and expenses for their future.
I also see the need to help families settle an estate upon the death of a loved one. It can be very confusing, and I have settled 4 family estates recently. Let me know how I can help you.
I come from a family of 5 boys and in the last 3 years, 2 brothers and my parents have passed away. In their final years I managed each one's entire finances and day to day mail and insurance needs. I also settled all 4 estates. I did not know there was a profession for this untiI I finally got on the internet after settling the last one, and found this little-known profession, “Daily Money Managers.” I had been doing it but didn’t realize there was a name for it. And, important to me, there is a code of ethics, a background check, and a standard of service that are required to be a member of AADMM-the American Association of Daily Money Managers. And now, I want to help others navigate through what I went through –you don’t have to do it alone and I want to help.
BUSY PROFESSIONALS:
A DMM will typically assist busy professionals with tasks such as budgeting, assisting with bill paying, monitoring college education accounts, negotiating with creditors, and organizing financial documents.
MILITARY PERSONNEL:
Military personnel and their families are frequently overwhelmed by the vast amounts of paperwork and documents generated by the Veterans Administration, legal services, healthcare agencies and other support services specific to veterans. American Association of Daily Money Managers DMMs provide the coordination, organization and liaison work needed which allows those who have served or are currently serving our country to have peace of mind knowing that the details of their finances are being expertly managed by a DMM professional.
PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES:
DMMs are ideally suited to handle the bill paying and financial organization for people with cognitive and physical disabilities because the focus is primarily on clients’ finances. Caregivers are often too overwhelmed with the responsibilities of managing the physical care of their loved ones to manage the financial affairs, so this is frequently overlooked. People with disabilities can become victims of fraud and exploitation, so working with a knowledgeable and trusted professional is crucial.
SENIORS/OLDER ADULTS:
A DMM can assist seniors with their daily payment of bills and other tasks such as monitoring and tracking long term care insurance, disability insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, and obtaining required minimum distributions (RMDs).
RETIREES:
In the pre-retirement planning process, DMMs can assist a financial advisor with a review of retirement income with the absence of a salary and determine which expenses would go away and which may increase/decrease. DMMs can also assist retirees with RV purchase decisions and enable them to travel worry-free by managing mail, paying bills, monitoring budgets and arranging for home maintenance needs while they are away.
At a certain point, adult children and their aging parents might find themselves in a reversal of roles, with the children taking control and making important decisions about the parents’ finances, medical care and other day-to-day needs. The transition might be difficult for everyone involved, especially if the parents are hesitant to cede control of certain aspects of their life. The key is to make assurances that the family will work together to handle issues as they arise. The children “might want to take it more slowly than they want to,” said Debbie Verity, a daily money manager. “And maybe they start in an advisory role, looking over the parent’s shoulder. It’s hard, it’s a very difficult situation. You want to establish a partnership.” Verity speaks not only as a financial manager but as a daughter who cared for her mother following a diagnosis of dementia.
